Connect Cloudflare

Your site must be an active zone on your Cloudflare account. In SenseGap, open your site's Install page and choose Cloudflare.

Create the token

  1. Open Cloudflare → API Tokens and click Create Token.
  2. Use the Edit Cloudflare Workers template, or a custom token with only these permissions:
    • Account · Workers Scripts · Edit
    • Zone · Workers Routes · Edit
    • Zone · Zone · Read
  3. Paste the token into SenseGap and click connect.

We use the token once to set things up and don't keep it. You can delete it in Cloudflare straight away.

What gets added

One Worker, named after your domain. If a Worker already serves your site, ours runs as its Tail Worker: it gets a copy of each finished request, so it adds no delay and can't affect your site. Otherwise it runs on your site's route: it passes each request through untouched, returns your page, then reports in the background. If anything fails, it falls back to your origin.

On the Workers Free plan (100,000 requests a day), open the route in Cloudflare and set Request limit failure mode to Fail open. Then a busy day skips the Worker instead of showing visitors an error.

Set it up yourself

Prefer not to share a token? Under Or set it up yourself, create a key, then deploy the collector with Wrangler. The exact commands, with your domain filled in, are on the Install page. The collector is one open-source file: read it on GitHub.

If it fails

  • “This token can't see example.com”: the site isn't an active zone on the account the token belongs to, or the token is missing Zone · Zone · Read.
  • “Cloudflare refused the token for this step”: one of the three permissions is missing. Create a new token with all three.

To remove it, see uninstall SenseGap.
